What’s New on the OBX for 2015?

2015-obx-eventsThe Outer Banks have long been known for fantastic events. Whether you are looking for water sports, concerts, or marathons, the Outer Banks hosts it! While our annual events are certainly something to brag about, we want to highlight some great new OBX events to look forward to in 2015. It’s not just surf contests and fishing tournaments around here, but so much more! Read below and see if you will be lucky enough to be enjoying an Outer Banks vacation during one of these awesome events. If not, consider a Nags Head vacation rental. Staying in Nags Head will ensure you are able to enjoy all of the action the OBX has to offer!

OBX Brewfest

The first annual OBX Brewfest is taking place this spring in Nags Head. Come enjoy "a palate pleasin’ adventure” as the Outer Banks’ inaugural craft brew experience will offer tastings, guest speaker panels, local chef pairings, live entertainment, and art! The event is set to take place at the Nags Head event site overlooking the Roanoke Sound on May 31st. Come on down and enjoy some great times with your friends!

Atlantic Coast Catamaran Championship

Check out the F16 Eastern Area Catamaran Sailing Championship right here on the Outer Banks! The Atlantic Coast Catamaran Championship will take place May 25th-28thright off the coast of Roanoke Island. Sailors will race through the sound at top speeds in only 7-8 feet of water. The event is put on by SailNC, a wonderful non-profit organization in Roanoke Island.

The Virginia Symphony

First Flight High School in Kill Devil Hills will be hostingThe Virginia Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, April 23rd. The spectacular symphony is conducted by the nationally acclaimed Benjamin Rous. The symphony was founded in 1920 and is ranked in the top 10 percent of professional orchestras nationwide. Don’t miss this spectacular event taking place right here in our own community!

Buck’s Beach Blast

Mark your calendar for Buck’s Beach Blast. This beach music event is set to take place at The Whalehead Club in Corolla on May 24th. The event will take place during the Outer Banks Music Festival and is a great way to spend time with the family.

Eastern Surfing Association Mid-Atlantic Regionals

The Mid-Atlantic Regionals are back on the Outer Banks. This classic surfing showdown will feature some of the east coast’s best up and coming amateur surfers. The event will take place April 30th through May 3rd, somewhere on the OBX. Stay tuned to find out the exact location of the event so you can see these surfers in action!
