Family-Friendly Easter Weekend Events
Island Art Show-Hatteras Island
Throughout the spring and summer the northern villages of Hatteras Island, which include, Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo hold a monthly art show. This free event features live music, free parking, and over twenty local vendors. Local artisans feature paintings, sea-glass jewelry, handmade soap, and beautiful woodwork among many other things. This Easter is the perfect time to drive down to Hatteras Island which is close to all of our Outer Banks vacation rentals and enjoy the Island Art Show; we're sure you won't go home empty-handed.
5th Annual Hoppin Run
Had a little too much Easter candy? Gather up the family for the 5th Annual Hoppin Run. With runs ranging from the competitive to the family fun run, any level can enjoy this event. All proceeds benefit five year old Bella Conner who is battling Cerebral Palsy. This event is what Easter is all about. March 31st.
Elizabethan Gardens Eggstravaganza
Is there a more beautiful Easter setting than the Elizabethan Gardens? We doubt it. Come to the gardens on Saturday, March 31, for a day of activities and of course a huge Easter egg hunt. Event details.
Celebrating not only Easter, but also National Kite month, this event is full of high flying fun. Featuring a traditional Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter bunny, this event is far from your typical Easter egg hunt. On Saturday, March 30, there will be 30-100 foot long kites circling the skies. You don't want to miss this event.

21st Annual Dare County EGGstravaganza
If you love a massive Easter egg hunt with over 5, 000 eggs then we have the event for you. Join the Dare County Parks and Recreation Dept., on Saturday, March 24, at 11:30 am for a day full of Easter fun for the whole family. Events include face painting, egg spoon races, egg toss, and of course an egg hunt. There will even be a guest appearance by the Easter Bunny for pictures! This event is free to the public.
