Harvest Season Events on the Outer Banks

Pumpkin Patch Pickin' at Island Farm, every Saturday in October

Bring the family to Island Farm in Manteo any Saturday in October for an ox-drawn wagon ride to the farm's pumpkin patch. Let the kids pick their perfect pumpkin and take one home for only $4. Admission is $6 and children under the age of 5 are admitted free. It's the perfect place to spend a Saturday during harvest season on the Outer Banks, as Island Farm also offers activities including making your own corn husk doll, candle making, stuffing a scarecrow, a scarecrow photo booth, and petting zoo, among others. 8th Annual Duck Jazz Festival, Oct. 12 11 a.m. – dusk  

This free, all-day jazz festival can be found at The Duck Town Park in Duck following a weekend of fun events leading up to the big day. Sounds of local, regional and national musicians will fill the stages and streets, featuring Lipbone Redding, Louis Hayes & the Jazz Communicators, and Rene Marie, among others. 3rd Annual Outer Banks Seafood Festival, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.

Located in Nags Head, The Outer Banks Seafood Festival celebrates the livelihood and heritage of the fishermen and their families who have built the area into the place it is today. Harvest Hayday at Elizabethan Gardens, Oct.25 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

An exciting event for the entire family, the Harvest Hayday at the Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo is the perfect way to celebrate Harvest season with your loved ones. Featuring a hay ride, and a hay bale maze, there are also numerous activities for the entire family, including stuffing a scarecrow, educational stations, face painting, and crafts!
