Crab and Fish Rodeo

Saturday, June 11th, come out for the annual Crabbing and Fish Rodeo on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. This is the only day that the north pond is open to the public for crabbing and fishing. Door prizes are donated by local businesses.

The limit for crabs is 50 per person and if you plan of fishing, you will need a saltwater fishing license. They cannot be purchased on Pea Island so be sure to get one before you arrive.

If you need further details, call Cindy Heffley at (252) 475-4180(252) 475-4180 or visit Pea Island.

Besides this annual event, the refuge offers trails for viewing wildlife and birds. If hiking is not your thing, you can enjoy the miles of oceanfront. Wildlife refuges provide unparalleled outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, environmental education and photography.

Hope to see you there!
