Corolla Charter School
Last year, Corolla lost out on the chance to become the 100th Charter School in the state. This year, parents are hoping that Senate Bill 8 will expand the 1996 Charter School law to allow funding for more than just 100 schools. If the bill is passed, it will also allow a school to open with less than the minimum 65 students.
Some folks are opposed to having the Charter School in Corolla as it would take money away from other educational programs such as nutrition and prekindergarden classes for the poor.
