Beach Nourishment Begins!!

Nags Head Beach Nourishment finally began Tuesday evening at E. Lakeside Street. There were a few hiccups at first but it quicky got fixed and the sand began pumping at dark. The sand pumping began earlier than scheduled and so far it looks good. It will take a few weeks before anything is really noticeable.

There is a team schedued from dusk until dawn each day to watch for nesting turtles. They are to keep watch in the sand pumping area to be sure all turtles are warned in time.

Plans are to work on 500 feet of beach daily to minimize the impact on summer renters.
