Every year, hurricanes, illness and other emergencies cause travelers to delay, interrupt, or even cancel their vacations completely. Many travelers save all year for their vacation so when unforeseen events occur, you shouldn't have to suffer the financial loss and disappointment. A travel insurance plan can help cover your vacation investment from unforeseen circumstances including mandatory hurricane evacuations.
Elan Vacations has partnered with Red Sky Travel Insurance to provide Trip Preserver coverage for our guests. Trip Preserver provides trip insurance, emergency assistance and travel services for hurricane evacuations and family emergencies such as illness or death in the family. When signing your Vacation Rental Lease, you will have the option to purchase trip insurance to cover your vacation.
The cost is 7% of the total rent and this cost is indicated on your lease. If you choose to purchase the trip insurance, the fee is due with your first payment and is non-refundable. We include trip insurance automatically with your reservation; however, the insurance is optional and you may accept or decline it at the time of lease signing. We strongly urge you to consider this insurance when considering your Outer Banks Vacation. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE FOR HURRICANE EVACUATIONS WITHOUT TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE.
Note: Travel Insurance can be purchased up to 30 days prior to arrival or final payment, whichever comes first. Pre-existing medical condition waiver is available if purchased within 21 days of your initial deposit.
