Taste of the OBX: Spring Restaurant Week
Mark your calendars! It's that time of year again for Restaurant Week on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where local chefs serve up the most mouthwatering cuisine at your favorite area venues. Restaurant Week is a bi-annual event happening in the spring and fall on the OBX and is loved by visitors and residents alike.
When is Spring Restaurant Week and how does it work?
Spring Restaurant Week 2016 kicks off on Friday, April 15 and runs for nine days ending on Saturday, April 23. It includes two weekends, so be sure to take advantage of the chance to get out on the town and have a wonderful meal during this spring OBX event. Why not celebrate the end of tax season with a night out? Date night? Meetup with friends? Have a nice family dinner out?
The best thing about Spring Restaurant Week is you don't need any advance purchases, special tickets or coupons for the event. Just look at the participating restaurants, pick one, and go. When you get there, ask to see the Spring Restaurant Week special menu, if it's not already on your table, and order off of that. It's simple, easy, delicious and fun. You just sit down to dine as you normally would on any other day, but with the added benefit of a special OBX Restaurant Week menu and value pricing.
What's on the menu for Spring Restaurant Week?
The beauty of dining during Restaurant Week on the Outer Banks is the opportunity to enjoy local fare by having a 3-course lunch or dinner specially chosen by the chefs at each of the participating OBX restaurants. New this year is the Tapas option where you can choose a light bite instead of the 3-course meal.
Visit the OBX Restaurant Week website for the full list of participating restaurants and their Spring Restaurant Week menu options posted started on April 1. They are organized by town for your convenience. See which restaurants are on the list this year!
How much does it cost to order from the Restaurant Week menu?
Another benefit of ordering from the Spring Restaurant Week menu is value. Not only are you ordering a special menu designed by the chef, you also get a pre-fixe price. That just means that the price is already set and it's the same for any of the participating restaurants you choose during Restaurant Week. The fixed price is either $20 or $35 for lunch and dinner or just $10 for the Tapas option. Amazing pricing!
Visit your usual favorite or try some place new to dine on the Outer Banks at a better-than-menu priced value just for this event. Please remember that the pre-fixe price does not include gratuity (or sales tax), so remember to tip your server!
