OBX Family Weekend
What a beautiful weekend on the Outer Banks! The sun was shining, weather warm and so many events to attend. I was reminded this weekend of just how great the Outer Banks is to live and raise your family. Saturday began with some spring Yard Sales. Then the kids and I ventured over the bridge to the Currituck County Rural Center to see a 4H Horse Show. My 5yr old daughter even got to ride a horse! After the horse show, we headed to the Car Show in Kill Devil Hills for my 4yr old son. My favorite was the '67 red Camaro but my daughter's favorite was the hot pink truck. My son couldn't chose just one!
Sunday after church, we spent the afternoon at the largest parade in N.C.! The kids had a ball chasing after candy and beads thrown from the parade cars. We saw fire trucks, police cars, floats and lot's of dogs. I think my 10lb dog and 4yr old boys were tortured by the sounds of fire trucks but the other kids seemed to love it! Parade favorites were there like the White Trash Marching Band and the mini cars shaped as boats and sharks. The parade was missing Monster Trucks but we still enjoyed it. If you missed it, it's a must add for your calendar in 2012!
